One year ago today, Carter and I made a little announcement (via TechCrunch and New West Summit) about the launch of Gateway Incubator. We "pivoted" our tech careers and decided to begin our journey as cannabis business entrepreneurs. While many saw it as a risky move, we saw that the cannabis industry is where our skill set was most needed and that this industry had a sense of inevitability about it. Coincidentally, 'inevitability' is the quality that I've learned to seek-out in the entrepreneurs that we choose to work with. While many of our contemporaries poked fun at our decision - the puns were endless - we knew it was no joking matter and that it would forever change our trajectory, and if we were successful, the trajectory for many.
